I’d just like to say that, yes, splenda and other artificial sweetners are indeed bad for you, but only in large amounts. Like any other cake you shouldn’t be eating CAKE every day or drinking copius amounts of diet soda to justify in the increase of other unhealthy foods. This is what it is…a treat. And god has nothing to do with your reduced intake of splenda. Praise nothing.

well, just 2 things.. I’m a bariatric doctor (specialized in weight management) and all that splenda bshit is exactly that…bullshit… have heard of somthing called merchandizing? well that happens between companies… splenda and all the other sweeteners are sugar…

Loved the recipe but the music almost made me click out…Not your choice in music but the volume at times was horrible. Thanks for the recipe I will be trying it since I am just starting a low to no carb no sugar diet.

Splenda is POISON…I was going to doctors like crazy. Thought at 43 I would be crippled for life..After 3 whole years of joing pain and swelling and just being miserable…I went ahead and stopped splenda “just to see if that could be the source” Sure enough YES IT WAS…No Splenda = No PAIN, NO SWELLING! Praise God!!!

so true, people don’t understand that with ANY diet you have exercise to lose weight in addition to eating whatever food suits their plan. people too commonly blame their obesity on what food they eat, not their lifestyle.

splenda is soo bad for you mate! better to use honey i say!

  11. sfpolarbear says:

I understand what you’re saying. He should have said that in the directions. Some cakes need greasing and some don’t. It depends on the type of cake. Any cake that uses beaten egg whites to leaven it should not have the sided of the cake pan greased.

  12. sfpolarbear says:

You don’t have to. That’s why you run the knife around the edge when you take it out. You can put some on the bottom, but not on the sides.

  13. fitnisfrk says:

If that’s the case, it would be nice to know. How often do you bake something without lubricating the pan with something?

  14. sfpolarbear says:

He didn’t spray the pan because the cake needs to stick to the sides in order to rise properly. You never use oil on an angel food cake pan.

  15. fitnisfrk says:

Now why didnt he spray the pan with Pam or something? That cake looks like a paper weight typical of most low fat/ low carb recipes, but I’d still eat it, begrudginly. Even though the chef looks tastier!

I think you have missed my point… but i will have a read

The character count isn’t large enough for me to give full reasoning. But still i dont think the atkins diet is suitable for the majority of the population due to the high incidence of people living extremely sedentary lifestyles. I myself am on a cyclic ketogenic diet similar to atkins (simiar), but i excercise regularly. As far as im aware, the majority of people think atkins is a suitable way to loose weight while remaining inactive (although i could be wrong…)

One thing to bear in mind about low-carbing is that if you go high-protein, low-fat, and low-carb, eventually you will make yourself sick. Traditional cultures always ate protein with fat. You need fat for cell/tissue building and maintenance as well as for energy. It also really helps with satiety.

  20. danaseilhan says:

Do a Google search for Accu-Chef, which is a recipe software. It links to the USDA database and as long as the ingredients are in that database, you can look up the nutritional info of any recipe you input. I use it and love it, it’s very helpful with low-carbing.

  21. danaseilhan says:

Butter is very, very good for you and the Atkins diet is just fine. If you can’t say why something is bad then don’t waste space condemning it.

  22. danaseilhan says:

Weight loss isn’t actually about calories, for all kinds of reasons that I don’t have room to enumerate here. You need to read Gary Taubes’s Good Calories, Bad Calories. It’s a real eye-opener–the man’s a science writer.

guy, you are the best ;) every year that i want to start my low carb diet, i see your video and i’m happy that are people like you because l’idea to do this doesn’t come from all

Made it, added cinnamon instead of almond mix, very nice. i also made one without the sugar and used it as protein bread.
