Two weeks ago i wasn’t sure of sticking to low carb, i fail so many times because of no bread rule. This bread saved me and i am in second week of my induction. Those who say this is not legal for induction. Not entirely true. I altered the recipe used walnut mix(less carbs) instead of carb quick. My clothes are getting loose I use it for sandwhich, tortilla(i use roti/totilla maker machine) pancakes, french toast, or just with creamcheese. I do MeatEgg eat diet vegetables two days a week.

I reduce the calories by using 1 TBS unsweetened applesauce instead of the oil, and 1/4 cup Egg Beaters instead of the egg. Tastes great.

Instead of Flax seed meal I used Almond Flour, added a little water and liquid splenda. It made quite a nice shortcake for a strawberry shortcake.

What is carb quick?, do you buy it from a health food shop, I live on a tiny islands 9 by 5 miles, we do not have such a thing in our supermarket, is there another name for it.

By the way the recipe looks great.

I agree with you. The advantage to canola oil is that you get omegas 3, 6, and 9 in a single oil. Now probably the best way to do that without using canola oil, is to use a dash of cold pressed flax seed oil, a little corn oil, and a smidge of olive oil. That way you’re covered on all 3 of the omegas and are doing so in a with much more natural ingredients.

Nice but I believe you’d be better off using butter or olive oil rather than kanola oil, which is a processed type of oil. Remember, anything that is naturally found in human diet since dark ages is better to eaten.

Also I did some research on carbquik. Did you know that this low carb flour is different than traditional flour and kneeding the carbquik is a good thing and pulls the gluten into the mix which is something you do not want to do with traditional flour. Check out the sticky about it at lowcarbfriends.

I have done this very recipe many times. This recipe is very versatile that can become pizza crust, add s/f sweetener even a bit of s/f cocoa and it becomes chocolate cake. Golden Flax meal is prettier and to me a bit more tasty than the brown. I have even made it with just almond flour and left out the flax all together. Good video. I have been doing low carb for 5 years faithfully
