LLVLC On YouTube: Truvia Taste Test In NYC! (Episode 46)
Hear about a new sweetener coming out in the Fall 2008 today fromLivinLaVidaLowCarb.com blogger Jimmy Moore and his wife Christine as part of their “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube” series. Jimmy was privileged to be invited to the first taste test of Truvia taking place in the heart of New York City at Rockefeller Center on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 and it was such a great time! He met with Cargill representatives who were thrilled about this new all-natural calorie-free sweetener called Truvia. Jimmy has previously blogged about this sweetener coming to the market thanks to Cargill Foods and The Coca-Cola Company who is looking to put this sweetener in a new diet soda livinlavidalocarb.blogspot.com Truvia is made with stevia, a sweetener found in a leaf that you grow, as well as a sugar alcohol called erythritol, another all-natural zero-calorie sweetener, that acts as a bulking agent. You can buy a box of 40 packets of Truvia RIGHT NOW by visiting www.truvia.com. ENJOY! @livinlowcarbman YES! better than splenda or any other sugar/ sweetener
@jayoub1518 really? I COULD EAT IT BY ITSELF ALL DAY! mmmm I LOVE it!
About the same…I like the “clean” taste of Truvia better.
How does it compare to PureVia? Same taste? Better? Thanks!!!
AWESOME!
I want to say that Truvia is amazing. I do not like the taste of it straight (yuck!) but in baking it is fantastic. I made a cheesecake with splenda and it had an awful after taste. With Truvia it taste just like regular cheesecake. I am so exited about it.
That’s exactly right! NO MALTODEXTRIN (corn starch) in Truvia.
I bought some of this over the weekend. I noticed it says 3grams of carbohydrate which i assume is the sugar alcohol. So if i am thinking right, unlike splenda, you do not have to add 1 gram of carb per packet that you use, right?
Have you tried the product yet or are you simply dismissing it by association?
Oh man if Cargill is involved it might as well be called poison!
Enjoy Bonnie! I love this stuff.
I just bought some Truvia , I love it..oh gosh, it am so happy to see you do a vlog on this..I love all your low carb video.
Excellent! I went out and bought some today.
Since Truvia came to the market in October 2008, I’ve been using it A LOT in my own personal diet and it is AMAZING! LOVE IT!
It’s been almost a year since your video on Truvia. Are you still using it? Any issues?
When you were in NYC, you should’ve asked them why they had to go and test Truvia on innocent laboratory animals? Last time I checked, stevia and erythritol were the safest sweeteners out on the market.
Cheers Cargill!
This is WAY better…I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
I Love u two, thanks for all the low carb info! I tried Stevia but left a bitter after taste to me *yuk*
so am willing to give this a try….I like that it is natural.
Thanks, it’s really cool!
I use iMovie on my iMac.
what programs are you using for your video editing?
WOO HOO! Welcome to the low-carb lifestyle.
When Truvia comes out, I’ll use it mostly. The more natural the better.
Hey Jimmy I love your blog and I was excited to find your YouTube channel!!! I am new to lowcarbing and hoping to lose weight and get healthy with this lifestyle!!
great episode! I can’t wait to try. How would you compare it to Splenda? Which of these two will you use exclusively? Thanks for the great info!
