LLVLC On YouTube: Perfect Low-Carb Food–EGGS! (Episode 8)
Popular livinlavidalowcarb.com blogger Jimmy Moore and his talented wife Christine discuss the benefits of the incredible edible egg in this episode. Jimmy has his usual fun playing with his food (get a load of what he does with the eggs at the beginning of the show) and then gets serious to tell people why eating eggs is a healthy part of a low-carb diet because of the nutrients that they contain. Although eggs have received a bad rap because of their cholesterol content, the fact is dietary cholesterol is not the culprit in raising cholesterol in the body. Instead, it’s the excessive carbs which force the liver to pump out the cholesterol which can be harmful to your body. Yet another misconception blown to smithereens by Jimmy and Christine! The winner of an autographed copy of my book is announced in this video, so be sure to watch to see if you won! We’ve got even more prize giveaways for you coming in future videos, so keep watching for your chance to win some really cool stuff! AWESOME! Rock on!
I just started eating eggs at age 40!! My mother used to try to force them down my throat as a kid and the whole experience led to an irrational hatred of eggs. but I decided I had to give them a fair shot in the name of nutrition. Turns out I love them (scrammbled only at this point). I’ve gone from zero eggs for decades to 5-9 a day. The really do kill the appetite in a nice natural sort of way. I’ll be making up for lost decades of egg consumption…trust me. Eggs rule!!!
Portable foods are a must for truck drivers and finding low-carb ones aren’t difficult if you know what to get. Try string cheese, pork rinds, pepperoni slices, Atkins bars and shakes, beef sticks and jerky, and baked cheese crisps. If you have a small cooler, you could pack luncheon meats and cheeses, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, etc. Check out CarbSmart dote come for more great low-carb ideas!
I saw your story on the atkins website thought I wound check out your u-tub stuff. I am getting ready to start it. 20grams of carbs a day. I am a truck driver so I think I will be bring alot of my own food. Is there anything you can think of that might help me, with being on the road all the time? thanks
I love eggss!!! I also like like placing hard boiled ones in a jar of juice from store bought pickled beets. Pickled beets have alot of sugar but how many grams would the juice add to the pickled eggs?? thanks
We appreciate you watching!
I love you guys…very imformative and fun to watch…entertaining
Yep, it’s an awesome book and I’ve blogged about it many times at my blog. Colpo is an interesting fella and I don’t agree with him on everything. But he’s got some excellent info in TGCC.
Nope! I eat a healthy low-carb diet which keeps me fueled up well enough to stay energized throughout my workouts.
Jimmy have you read The Great Cholesterol Con by Anthony Colpo? It’s a great read. Have a good day.

You can do it again tryn2hope! You REALLY can if you get back on plan, follow that plan exactly, and then keep doing that plan for the rest of your life. It’s why I was successful and I encourage you to MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! I’m here for you to support your efforts.
Congats on your weight loss Christine! Jimmy I am so blown away at the amount of weight you have lost and kept off. At one time I low carbed it and lost 130 but life got hard and I gained it all back. Your you tubes are helping me find hope again.
Can’t live without my eggs–cooked in butter, coconut oil, and even lard. SO HEALTHY!
The hunger issue is what doomed me on my low-fat diet, too. UGH! Nevermore! I’d love to autograph my book for you, Jodi. Feel free to e-mail me at livinlowcarbman at charter dot net.
Mmmm, eggs!! They are the best part about the low carb way of eating….especially cooked in BUTTER!!!! I beleive the research. I was constantly hungry on the lowfat/high carb diet. That is why I always failed. I hate that hungry feeling. Now I have to remind myself to eat sometimes. Thanks again for the awesome info.
BTW, is there any way I can get my copy of Livin’ La Vida Low Carb signed.
Take Care,
Jodi (quest4health)
BOO! THANKS Tami!
The encredible edible egg….
Happy Halloween Jimmy and Christine,
Tami
Hey Mommy826! I wish more nurses and health professionals would have the positive attitude about livin’ la vida low-carb that you do. I too have to keep my carbs pretty low, but eating more fatty foods helps with satiety and gives you the fuel your body needs. I never count calories.
Thanks for the up to date info on eggs! I’m a nurse and boy do I get grief about living lo carb!!!! But it works!!! And despite my slow downs due to my thyroid, I still continue to eat lo carb and not give up. I haven’t been able to find time to exercise this time on atkins (I did great with it before). Should I cut some of the calories I am consuming along with the lo carb, like eat more salad and stuff? I can’t seem to go above 25-30 grams per day.
THANKS Elaine! I saw that study out of Stanford University about Atkins beating all the rest. It was published in the March 2007 issue of the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association. Wake up people! This is a HEALTHY way to eat and it’s time everyone knows it!
I love Eggs too! The Sept 2007 issue of Scientific American is a special issue : Diet, Health and the Food Supply. On page 66 it has an article stating that Atkins beats Zone, Ornish and US Diet adivce. Atkins had bested the competition. Thank you for another motivating and funny video, God Bless :O) -Elaine
Welcome to the wonderful world of livin’ la vida low-carb, iluvmy4blessings! It’s the best thing that ever happened to me beside marrying that cute girl sitting beside me in the video. As for fiber, yes I subtract it because your body does not digest it as carbohydrate. THANKS for watching!
Loving your videos. I switched to low carb this week from weight watchers and it has made a huge difference in my cravings.
I would like to know if you subtract fiber from carbs to get a carb count. I’ve talked to some who say it hinders their weight loss so they don’t subtract it for counting. Love your input!
