Thanks for the info in this vid. I hate to read! 65 pounds! Wow! I’m inspired! Thank you!

Remember, kids…lack of fat will effect your brain. Take a lesson from some of the posts here and for God’s safe, play nice!

@justlegal21 Wow…that shows your real mentality. Must be all those carbs you eat. A lack of fat will effect your brain you know.

As I said, my cholesterol is great. My LDL is low and my HDL is high. My blood pressure is on the low side. I must be doing something right! :-)

Don’t read the book if you don’t want. If you’re too afraid, then by all means, give in to that fear.

you can go ahead and block me idc anymore, read my last 2 comments and u might learn something, I was trying to be nice, but u just keep saying “read the book” wtf is wrong with u, is obvious ur brain needs carbohydrates since ur not getting enough energy to think. Like I said I won’t bother anymore, if you wana increase ur fat intake and clog ur arteries and mess up your heart is your problem, and btw fiber is important to regulate blood glucose and ur digestion. good luck w ur constipation.

  5. justlegal21 says:

& some people you can help but others are just a lost case, meaning you. You go by what some guy says who made millions of you and you think you’re right, but you’re not. And just because some people survived doesn’t mean they were healthy. You don’t need to eliminate carbs from ur diet, u just have to know how to eat, but you don’t. Carbs don’t make you fat, being a fat ass makes you fat. So good luck with your diet. I’m not even gona bother with u. Do yourself a favor and go to the doctor.

  6. justlegal21 says:

@newbirth35 ok, I was trying to be nice, but now I really know your brain is lacking alot of carbohydrates. So I’m not even gona bother anymore, you can go ahead with your stupid diet. I don’t need to read a stupid book that was made to still money, I learn facts studying. You do need carbs so that your body can spare protein for other important things retard, but you’ll never understand that, I say one thing u come up with something else, seriously u can’t even think right. Go back to school.

  7. newbirth35 says:

@justlegal21 Do yourself a favor and read the book, then come back and speak from a place of knowledge. You are bashing something you know nothing about other than what you hear on TV. Get some info. straight from the source – Dr. Atkins’ book.

  8. newbirth35 says:

@justlegal21 I didn’t say I need fiber. I said fiber carbs don’t raise blood glucose so they are an okay carbohydrate and that veggies contain important vitamins and minerals. Humans have a carbohydrate need of 0. Seriously, how did humans survive before agriculture, especially in the winter? Ever study the Inuit Indians? Know how many carbs they had in their traditional diet? I’ll give you a clue – their diet was 98% animal-based.

  9. justlegal21 says:

@newbirth35 ok seriously, I’m not even talking about that… omg is it so hard to understand what I’m trying to say? I’m saying that you are saying you don’t need carbs, yet you say you need fibers, so you’re contradicting yourself. That’s all I’m saying… gosh… do you get what I’m saying now?

  10. newbirth35 says:

@justlegal21 Atkins is not a zero carb diet. If you think that’s what Atkins is about then you need to read the book and find out what it’s really about.

  11. justlegal21 says:

@newbirth35 I’m sorry idk how to put it in a simpler way…your veggies have carbohydrates, they just have complex carbohydrates, so if you say you need those nutrients they have, then you DO need carbohydrates, even if is not the simple sugars… do you understand me now?

  12. newbirth35 says:

@justlegal21 I eat veggies because they have nutrients I need. I don’t need the carbs. Fiber carbs are fine because they do not raise blood glucose. I don’t eat much fruit, only as a treat. Veggies have all the nutrients you can get in fruit, without all the sugar. I feel good because of my overall diet. My favorite food is protein – meat and (when I can afford it) plain Greek yogurt.

  13. justlegal21 says:

@newbirth35 well you ARE eating carbohydrates, remember is also fibers, not just sugar, so if you say your eating lots of fiber and it makes you feel good then you actually feel good because your eating carbs, is just that you’re eating the complex ones, either way that’s good if you at least eat fruits and vegetables. You eat apples right? They wont harm u.I just hope you understand that some carbs are important, like the fibers you eat, to break down fat and regulate your blood glucose.

  14. newbirth35 says:

@justlegal21 Actually, since I eat so many veggies on Atkins, I get plenty of fiber. Carbohydate are not important. There is no such thing as an “essential carbohydrate.” There are essential fat and proteins. My body seems to be working just fine and my blood tests always come up great.

  15. justlegal21 says:

@newbirth35 you should increase your fiber intake and eat more carbohydrates, fiber helps regulate blood sugar, if you’re trying to go lower on fat then ok but carbohydrates are important, for the same reason protein is important, since you need protein for alot of things, your body won’t be able to properly use your protein if there are no carbs. You have to increase your intake at least in fiber, which is healthy and won’t make you fat. Is ok if you watch for sugar, but u need complex carbs.

  16. newbirth35 says:

@justlegal21 Actually, the only time I get hypoglycemia is when I eat carbs. I never have low-blood sugar eating the Atkins way.

  17. justlegal21 says:

@newbirth35 the reason you’re getting hypoglycemia is because you are not getting enough carbs, not because your getting too much, hypoglycemia is the result of low blood glucose, so that means your protein alone is not doing a very good job.

  18. newbirth35 says:

@robotwitha9mm As a country we have been wrong since the low-fat fad first came on scene about 30 years ago. We go low-fat and what do we see – skyrocketing obesity and “adult diabetes” in children (so they now call it “Type 2.”)

  19. newbirth35 says:

@robotwitha9mm I know exactly what carbohydrates are, and I know that there is no actually bodily need for them. We can make glucose out of protein so as long as you get enough protein, your blood sugar stays stable. I lost weight because I exercised and ate healthy. Healthy for me in not carbs. I already have hypoglycemia from eating too many carbs (just as my Dad had before getting diabetes). I choose to eat healthy now to prevent diabetes later.

  20. robotwitha9mm says:

Hi, Newbirth. It’s me again. I posting this on behalf of the user justlegal21 since his comments keep coming up as an error. His message was: ” you say we don’t need carbohydrates, but do you know what carbohydrates are? do you know why you lost weight?”. Thank you for your time.

  21. robotwitha9mm says:

Clearly a whole country, including licensed professionals with extensive years of study and practice, can’t be wrong. Again, I applaud your efforts for trying to loose weight and staying healthy, but perhaps you should try to find another method of achieving this. Remember…our bodies need a little bit of everything to survive and look good on both the inside and the outside. I hope my comment has helped you.

  22. robotwitha9mm says:

Hi, newbirth. I applaud your wanting to loose weight and for actually loosing it, but I’m afraid your Atkins method isn’t the best way to do it. I don’t mean to offend but you don’t look healthy at all! Although eating veggies and fruits is wonderful, your body needs the nutrients found in other foods such as your dreaded pasta rice and potatoes. I was also a little angered when you said dietitians/nutritionists/doctors including the US gov’t are wrong about carb intake.

  23. justlegal21 says:

I’m sorry but I have to tell you.. Eating alot of carbs won’t give you diabetes, unless all of those carbs are simple sugars.. so, idk where u got that from, also you do need protein but you need alot of complex carbohydrates as well to even help break down fat, and be healthy..a low carb diet is not healthy.. and does increase the risk of heart disease. So just letting you know, eating more protein won’t help if your body is using it as glucose because you don’t get enough carbohydrates.

  24. chadpopstar says:

Fruits and vegetables should never be limited. They are the healthiest foods on the planet! Grapes and bananas not allowed, got to be kidding me!! Atkins diet, in my opinion, is dangerous.

  25. atraherne says:

brown rice protein and that seemed to sort it.

I think the Atkins diet is dodgy!
