I loved the Atkins cereal. Then they discontinued it. This has been a great substitute. I love it with berries. My DH eats it right out of the bowl or pours coconut milk on it.

I was so glad that there is finally a breakfast cereal that is lo-carb, and tastes great. It came packaged really good, too, so that it wouldn’t arrive like someone jumped all over it. I’ll definitely buy again.

So why am I giving it only three stars? Because of its deceptive labeling. One reviewer said it had “no hidden sucrose, organic cane sugar, cane syrup, or any of the other sweeteners snuck into cereals these days”. Sorry bud, it does. It’s listed right on the ingredients panel. “evaporated cane juice crystals”. Hmmm. Crystals made from sugar cane. Whatever could they be? Could they be…… SUGAR???. That’s pretty much what “evaporated cane juice crystals are. Good ole White Death. However, the actual amount of sugar appears to be moderate so I’ll buy another box when I finish off this one.

  4. I love this cereal because I don’t get really hungry soon after eating. It is very filling and tastes great with berries. Even though it is low sugar, it still tastes nicely sweet.

Hi-Lo Original Flavor cereal is crunchy, delicious, and good for you! I searched high and low for a breakfast cereal that had natural ingredients, without all the sugar you find in even the ‘health food’ brands, that tasted great, and finally I found it! High in protein and fiber, low in sugar and fat, no trans fats, and no hidden sucrose, organic cane sugar, cane syrup, or any of the other sweeteners snuck into cereals these days. It comes in flavors, but my favorite is the original, which I pour fresh berries over for a really satisfying, healthy, wonderful breakfast.
